Before shelling out a prohibitive amount for champagne, try sparkling wines – pick any German, Italian, French, Australian or American one. Even some Indian ones (sula, grover and chateay indage) are comparable. As for champagne, Moet & Chandon is perhaps the most popular brand here. Dom Perignon from the Meot fold, Cristal and Bollinger (James Bond’s choice) are among the most expensive champagnes in the world. Look for the words brut (dry), demi-brut (half dry) and sec (sweet) before you buy a bottle. If you like, get a rose or pink champagne (it’s sweeter).

Along with that serve shredded chicken bhurji, paneer bhurji, a salad and chutneys, serve with filter coffee.
