Bang up your magnesium: Eating a diet rich in this mineral significantly cuts your chances of developing type2 diabetes, reported by Swedish researchers. In Delhi, diabetologists from Delhi Diabetes Research Center says that your diet should include 29gm of magnesium rich fiber. Eat wholegrain foods such as oat-meal, brown rice and popcorn. Spinach and almonds are also magnesium rich. ‘Magnesium reduces insulin resistance and therefore helps prevent diabetes. ‘Among diabetics, a sufficient amount of magnesium protects not only against the disease but also the onset of subsequent complications of the eye’.
