Getting enough calcium in your diet is one of the best ways to ward off bone-thinning osteoporosis – the key to build new bone. Most of s consumes less than half the calcium recommended.
Eat at least two calcium-rich foods daily such as low fat yoghurt, fat free milk, and calcium fortified orange of grape juice, cottage cheese, fish, soybeans, methi and dates. If you have one glass of semi-skinned milk, a small pot of low fat fruit yoghurt and 40gm of hard cheese, this would provide approximately the amount of calcium an adult needs in one day. And if you’re not a milk guzzler, then take a calcium supplement to top off the calcium in your diet.
