Suddenly there’s a lot of probiotic talk in the papers and at the grocer’s as well… shelves are lined with probiotic drinks (DANONE’s Yakult, Mother Dairy’s Nutrifit), dahi (Nestlé’s Nesvita) and even ice cream (from Amul).
Coffee chain Barista too has launched its range of probiotic smoothies to beat the heat. With fruit pulp and dahi, these coolers can be whipped up at home as well.
Mango smoothie: blend 80gm fresh Alphonso mango pulp, 100gm probiotic dahi, 120gm ice cubes and sugar (syrup or powered) to taste till it’s smooth. Pour into a tall glass and garnish with a slice of mango.
