A few things to remember

• Newborn puppies can’t generate or retain heat, so for the first week your dog must keep them warm. Also, a typical room temperature of 22°C is not warm enough for them; about 37°C is optimum. So keep their basket will-padded with old clothes and newspapers, don’t expose them to the AC draft and cover them up in winter.
• The first milk of the mother, called colostrums, provides passive immunity against the many diseases that she may have been exposed to in her lifetime; this lasts for 8-12 weeks. Besides, ask your vet to vaccinate the puppies when they are 5-7weeks.
